Single Photons for Quantum Information
In this project we would like to develop reliable single photon sources and apply them in quantum information processing. First experiments will be realized with electrically
excited self-assembled quantum dots emitting at around 800-900 nm. We will push
the emission wavelengths towards the near infrared. Main goals are the
generation of entangled photons and indistinguishable photons. Fiber-based
quantum cryptography and fiber-based integrated quantum gates shall be
realized.
