Postdoc positions:
A postdoc position "Quantum-computer algorithms on NISQ devices" within the newly founded Einstein Research Unit (ERU) "Perspectives of a quantum digital transformation" is available immediately! We are looking for a highly motivated postdoc that wants to develop, implement, and apply quantum-computer algorithms for treating highly excited states and/or perform quantum wavepacket dynamics in either atomic and molecular physics or in lattice gauge theories. This should be done taking into account the available quantum-computer hardware and error mitigation. The goal is the development of algorithms that solve "real" physics problems and are scalable so they can follow the hardware development. While the postdoc will be located at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the work will be performed in very close interaction with DESY (Zeuthen).
Requirements:
Application deadline: 13.02.2022 (or until position is filled)
Application material: Applications (containing a cv, a short description of the research interests, three letters of reference, copies of the school and university certificates) should be send with the reference DR/166/21 preferentially as a single pdf attachment via e-mail to alejandro.saenz@physik.hu-berlin.de or via ordinary mail to Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftliche Fakultät, Institut für Physik, Prof. Dr. Alejandro Saenz (Sitz: Newtonstr. 15, 12489 Berlin), Unter den Linden 6, 10099 Berlin, Germany.
