Title: Weak Ergodicity Breaking and Ensemble Heterogeneity

We investigate weak ergodicity breaking, the non-coincidence of time averages with their ensemble counterparts in systems where the whole state space is accessible. This behaviour is often quantified by means of the so called "ergodicity breaking parameter", which is a measure for the heterogeneity among an ensemble of trajectories. We discuss several forms of weak ergodicity breaking and calculate the ensemble heterogeneity for a certain class of random processes. The result is applied to fractional Brownian motion subordinated to some renewal process and it is demonstrated in this example how this parameter is a property inherited from the non-stationary parts of the process.
