Electronic coupling in inorganic/organic semiconductor hybrid structures for opto-electronic function

Objectives

The first subproject is dedicated to the development of HIOS building blocks for light-emitting applications and their implementation in devices. Optical spectroscopy and electrical characterisation will be employed to elucidate fundamental processes relevant the function of the building blocks and their interplay. Electronic excitations that involve overlap of wave functions of organic and inorganic semiconductor and charge transfer across the heterointerface are the focus of the second subproject. The optical properties of such hybrid excitations occurring at ZnO/organic interfaces and their impact on energy transfer and charge separation will be explored.
