Charge transfer and charge separation across hybrid interfaces

Objectives

B7 aims at a conclusive, possibly quantitative, understanding of the transfer of charge carriers, either being injected or photogenerated, across a morphologically and electronically well-defined hybrid interface. Being able to precisely tune the energetics of the inorganic surface will enable a comprehensive study of charge transfer for an exceptionally wide work function range, and allow evaluating existing approaches for modelling charge carrier injection. Also, by investigating the energy and dynamics of hybrid charge transfer excitations for differently modified ZnO surfaces, we will address some of the most urgent questions regarding charge carrier photogeneration at hybrid interfaces.
