Electronic structure and ultrafast carrier dynamics at hybrid inorganic/organic interfaces

Objectives

Femtosecond time- and angle-resolved two-photon photoemission, linear and non-linear optical spectroscopy, and photoluminescence spectroscopy will be used to investigate the energy level alignment as well as the charge carrier and exciton dynamics at HIOS interfaces. This will lead to a better understanding of charge and energy transfer (C&ET) processes as well as hybrid charge transfer excitations. Moreover, in continuing close cooperation within the CRC, optically switchable dipolar groups in the molecules will be used to dynamically change the balance of C&ET on ultrafast timescales.
