What is the mass of neutrinos? To answer one of the most fundamental and important open questions in modern particle physics and cosmology, the KATRIN Karlsruhe Tritium Neutrino Experiment was designed and built by an international collaboration at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). A special Inauguration Colloquium on June 11 marked the start of its long-term data taking phase.
Prof. Dr. Alejandro Saenz from the Department of Physics of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is a member of the international research collaboration.
