Thinner than light...

AvH_Logo_Support_RGB.png

In the research group "Fundamentals of Optics and Photonics" of Arno Rauschenbeutel we work with glass fibers whose diameter is smaller than the wavelength of the guided light. The special properties of these fibers make them suitable for use as a "quantum laboratory".

We acknowledge financial support by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in the framework of an Alexander von Humboldt Professorship, endowed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
