  • November 14, 2023: Congratulations Julian! We proudly announce that our PhD student Julian Bopp won 1st prize at the Forum Junge Spitzenforschung science competition with his project "Chip-Integrated Diamond-NV Quantum Magnetic Field Camera". The prize is endowed with 10.000 €.

  • October 17, 2023: We are thrilled to announce that our team members Sinan Gündoğdu and Grigory Kornilov, in collaboration with Dr. Sofia Pazzagli from Humboldt-University AG GOP, were distinguished as finalists for the Berthold Leibinger Innovationspreis. Our innovative project "QLAS – the Photonic 3D Printer" focuses on crafting a low-power direct laser writing method to produce 3D photonics with a pronounced refractive index contrast in polymers.

  • June 19, 2023: Welcome Karl, welcome Feykun! We are happy to have Karl Lübs joining our group as a Bachelor student and Sarp Feykun Sener as a research intern.
  • June 17, 2023: Can you guess the wavelength of laser light? We were at the Long Night of Sciences to answer this question and all the others you had on optics, lasers and quantum physics. Thank you for coming and thank you to everyone who volunteered in preparing and supervising the experiments!

  • February 16, 2023: Congratulations Franziska! Franziska Marie Herrmann successfully defended her master thesis on "Development of a stable, compact and cost-effective laser light source for resonant control of tin-vacancy color centers" today. She will join Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) as a PhD student. We wish you all the best for the future!
  • February 1, 2023: Welcome back Helen! We are extremely glad to have Helen Jurscha back as our administrative assistant. Welcome Fenglei! We are excited to have Fenglei Gu from TU Delft join our group for the next six months to work on quantum repeater modelling.
  • January 16, 2023: Welcome Yannick and congratulations Jonas! Today Yannick Strocka and Jonas Wollenberg start their PhD theses in our group. Jonas recently completed his master thesis with us, and we are excited to have Yannick join us as a new group member!
