Nanofabrication & photonic integration

Job description:
Development of next-generation spin-based integrated photonic circuits (PIC) for quantum information involving diamond nanofabrication and -integration carried out in the clean-rooms of Ferdinand Braun Institute; tasks pertaining to own scientific qualification (PhD)


Requirements:
Completed academic studies in physics or another relevant subject with above average accomplishments involving first publications; extensive knowledge of numerical tools in order to design nanostructures and of nanofabrication methods; relevant experience in quantum-optics, solid state spin physics, nano-structuring or semiconductor-nanophotonics; self-responsible and goal-oriented team player who is open for new challenges

 

Quantum control

Job description:
Implementation of quantum optical experiments aiming to generate entanglement of quantum memories in diamond (NV and novel group IV defects) with individual photons and between each other; especially the use of optical and microwave control protocols for application in quantum information processing; tasks pertaining to own scientific qualification (PhD)

Completed academic studies in physics or another relevant subject with above average accomplishments involving first publications; extensive knowledge of numerical tools in order to design nanostructures and of nanofabrication methods; relevant experience in quantum-optics, solid state spin physics, nano-structuring or semiconductor-nanophotonics; self-responsible and goal-oriented team player who is open for new challenges; experience in writing academic manuscripts

 

Post-doc

Job description:
Developing the next generation of spin-based integrated photonic circuits for efficient entanglement and control of quantum memories in diamond (NV and novel group-IV defects) with single photons and with each other; development of diamond-nanofabrication and- integration as well as the implementation of quantum information protocols; tasks pertaining to scientific qualification (your postdoc project will focus either on the design, fabrication and deployment of nanophotonic systems with diamond or on the implementation of advanced coherent control schemes for the generation of quantum gates and spin-photon entanglement)
 
Requirements:
Completed academic education in physics including PhD with above average accomplishments and first publications; excellent knowledge either of numerical nanostructure design tools and nanofabrication methods or in building optical experiments and implementing computer-based experimental control; extensive experience in quantum optics; quantum information, solid-state spin physics and semiconductor nanophotonics, ambitious, self-responsible, goal oriented team player that is open for new challenges; experience in writing scientific manuscripts is also required
