Associate membership

PhD students who have already a working contract in one of the working groups at HU Berlin, TU Dresden or DESY Zeuthen participating in GRK1504 can become an associate member of the research training group.

 

The benefits are:

  • Improved supervision of your thesis
  • Possibility to attend all lectures and block courses of the research training group
  • Participation in the rich soft skill programme provided by the research training group (including non-free courses)
  • Funding for travel expenses (conferences, summer schools etc.)

 

How to apply?

Your application has to be discussed in advance with your supervisor and his/her support is required. Applications are accepted in German or English language and should contain:

  • A letter of motivation indicating the name of your supervisor, as well as the starting date  and the estimated end date of the PhD project.  Your motivation for a participation in the research training group should be clearly stated. The names of two referees must be given.
  • A CV with emphasis on your academic career.
  • A short scientific essay (max. 2 pages) describing your research interests and your PhD project.
  • A copy of all university certificates.
  • A copy of a written Master thesis or equivalent.

Upload all documents onto the GRK1504 application server.

In addition two letters of reference are required. They have to be sent by the referees directly to the contact person given below via email.
