lab:prepare & lab:present

Practical and theoretical foundations for student scientific communication

Winter semester 2021-22

BUA-Course, 3 ECTS

labpresent_transp.pngIn this course, students learn the technical and organisational basics for presenting scientific content in public. This includes, for example, the reconstruction of demonstrative experiments, the design and implementation of science-related installations or the clear presentation of complex topics in lectures. The students should be enabled to organise themselves in interdisciplinary teams and to work together in a project-oriented manner. The module thus prepares students for the optional module lab:present, in which student projects can be presented in various event formats.

This module is in only available in German (see in Moodle).

Students present interdisciplinary research

Winter semester 2021-22

BUA-Course, 3 ECTS

labpresent.pngThe students will learn the basic concepts and scientific methods for the demonstration and presentation of scientific experiments and experimental set-ups, both in and out of university contexts, with the aim of presenting their project work or final theses in public. They will thus thus able to process their laboratory results, studies and calculations for other contexts and present them in a generally understandable way. Students will be able to critically assess their own work and that of others and weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of different types of presentation. Furthermore, they will be able to work and communicate efficiently and reliably in a group. To this end, they will also learn to network with relevant institutions. Finally, the students will be able to present and discuss their results in front of a broad audience.

This module is only available in German.
