Quantum Technology onboard Small Satellites
This month a new project was officially launched at the Department of Physics within the framework of the profile partnership of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin with the National University of Singapore. Dr. Markus Krutzik and Dr. Aline Dinkelaker are now working with physicists in Singapore on the implementation of optical quantum technologies onboard small satellites.
In this profile partnership project, compact and economical electronics are developed, which are required for the use of optical frequency references onboard small satellites, so-called "CubeSats". The partnership allows for an intensive exchange of working groups through joint workshops and exchange of students. The work complements the research focus of optical quantum technologies for use in space.
The cooperation is being funded within the framework of the profile partnership between Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the National University of Singapore.
