The symposium focused on hybrid structures comprising inorganic semiconductors, conjugated organic materials, and metal nanostructures. Topics included structure and morphology, electronic structure and control of inorganic/organic interfaces, charge and energy transfer, hybrid optical excitations, plasmonic phenomena, and more. Invited talks were presented by pertinent international experts and by members of the Collaborative Research Centre 951. Excellent networking opportunities and room for lively discussions were provided during two poster sessions.

To reduce the spread of COVID-19, the HIOS Symposium 2020 took place as an online video conference, using the platform ZOOM.
