Solid State Theory group

In the Solid State Theory group, fellowships are now available to support highly qualified young PhD researchers or highly qualified PhD students with a time-limited research project for a maximum of two years.

The maximum amount is 1750,- € per month for doctoral candidates and 1365,- € for doctoral students; an increase is planned at a later date.

The award is made according to the guidelines for the award of fellowships of the Institute of Physics of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (No. 51/2021, 30.10.2021).

If you would like to realize ideas for an innovative project in the field of solid state theory or data-centered research in materials science, please send your project outline together with your curriculum vitae including a list of publications as well as a professional statement by a professorial member of the Institute of Physics or junior research group leader to claudia.draxl--at--physik.hu-berlin.de. Please feel free to contact Prof. Claudia Draxl in advance.

Optical Metrology

Starting immediately, the Optical Metrology Group can offer stipends for highly qualified applicants with a university degree in physics or related fields which want to pursue a project in the context of our research aiming to implement quantum optics experiments in space.

The stipends at 1365,- EUR per month are initially funded for a period of 6 months. The candidate selection and granting of the stipend will be according to the “Richtlinien zur Vergabe von Stipendien des Instituts für Physik der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Nr.51/2021, 30.10.2021)“.

If you have ideas for an interesting project in the context of  the space related research of the Optical Metrology Group, then please apply by sending a project proposal by email to Prof. Achim Peters (achim.peters--at--physik.hu-berlin.de).  The application also needs to include your CV and a letter of reference providing the professional opinion of a professor or junior research group leader of the „Institut für Physik“ on your proposal.

Nano-Optics

The group Nano-Optics is now offering scholarships for highly qualified applicants with a university degree in physics or a related subject who would like to carry out a project in the field of photonic quantum information processing as part of our research.

The grants of EUR 1365 per month are initially financed for a period of up to 9 months. The selection and granting of the scholarship is based on the guidelines for awarding scholarships of the Institute for Physics at the Humboldt University in Berlin (No. 51/2021, October 30, 2021).

If you have ideas for an interesting project in the Nano-Optics group, please send an email to Prof. Oliver Benson (oliver-benson--at--physik.hu-berlin.de) with a project proposal. You are also welcome to contact Prof. Benson in advance.
