I am an experimental (astro-)particle physicist at Humboldt University and member of the Experimental High Energy Group of Prof. Dr. Cigdem Issever.

My current research focusses on the

(i) construction and operation of high-precision ion clocks as a tool for searches for physics beyond the standard model, and on             

(ii) the exploration of the non-thermal Universe with the help of Cherenkov telescopes.

Hint for students: At the moment, we have an opening for a thesis on a fiber-optic Michelson interferometer. You can also check this poster for bachelor and master theses.

Current Research

• Setup of a highly-charged ion clock based on Californium
• Connecting clocks with the help of dark glass fibres
• Estimation of the physics reach of dark matter searches with clocks on the ground and in space

• Development of the control software for the medium-sized telescopes (MSTs, 12m diameter)
• Telescope calibration (mirror alignment and pointing)
• Optimization and verification of the MST optics design
