  • Doctoral student position (75% E13 TVL)

    Description

    Job reference: DR/042/17

    This position involves the simulation of low-loss EELS spectra of inorganic and organic materials and also the acquisition of respective experimental data. This position offers the possibility for working towards a doctoral degree in physics at Humboldt University of Berlin. This position can be filled at any time, but is currently only funded until June 30, 2019.

    Requirements

    An M.Sc. degree in physics or a comparable qualification is required. Experience in scientific computing (e.g. Python, C/C++, or Matlab), solid knowledge in solid state physics and electrodynamics, as well as excellent written and oral English language skills are an advantage.

  • Postdoctoral position (E13 TVL)

    Description

    Job reference: DR/043/17

    This postdoctoral position involves electron microscopy service within the "Berlin Network for Electron Microscopy", the further development and application of the technique of inline electron holography - also in cooperation with external partners.

    Requirements

    A doctoral degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, or a comparable discipline are required, as well as experience in operating a transmission electron microscope (TEM), the preparation of TEM specimen, and computer programming (e.g. Python, C/C++, or Matlab). Experience in maintaining a website and excellent English speaking and writing skills are advantageous.
